HYHR
HYHR was a cannabis multi-level marketing platform designed to connect dispensaries with users as distributors, creating a new business model in the cannabis industry. The platform aimed to disrupt traditional cannabis distribution by enabling individuals to earn revenue by selling cannabis products legally through dispensary partnerships.
HYHR provided a unique opportunity for:
Dispensaries to expand their customer base through a network of independent distributors.
Users to become distributors, earning commissions by selling cannabis products directly to others.
A legally compliant marketplace, ensuring that all transactions adhered to state and federal regulations.
The platform was built to empower individuals while revolutionizing cannabis sales, offering a scalable, community-driven approach to distribution.
My Role
As Head of Design at HYHR, I was responsible for defining the user experience, product design, and brand identity for the platform. Working closely with business analysts, product managers, the development team, and the legal team, I led the UX/UI design efforts to ensure the platform was both intuitive for users and compliant with cannabis industry regulations.

Designed the end-to-end experience for users, from sign-up and product discovery to sales tracking and commission payouts.
Created wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs that balanced ease of use with regulatory requirements.
Designed a multi-level marketing (MLM) dashboard to help distributors track their earnings, sales performance, and team growth.
Collaboration Across Teams
Worked closely with the business team to translate the MLM business model into a seamless digital experience.

Collaborated with the development team to build a scalable, secure, and responsive platform.
Branding & Visual Identity
Established HYHR’s visual brand, ensuring a modern, trustworthy, and approachable aesthetic.
Designed marketing materials and landing pages to attract both dispensaries and independent distributors.
Through my role, I helped HYHR validate its product concept, create a seamless UX for distributors, and establish a strong brand presence in the cannabis industry.
Process – Structuring UX for HYHR
The design process for HYHR was deeply integrated with business strategy, technical feasibility, and compliance considerations, ensuring that the platform could scale while adhering to industry regulations. The challenge was to create a customizable, multi-level eCommerce solution that enabled users to become independent cannabis distributors while maintaining a cohesive brand identity.
Step 1: Aligning Business Strategy & Technical Feasibility
Before jumping into design, we needed to align on the product’s core functionality by working closely with the business, development, and legal teams:
Defined how users would sign up, manage inventory, and track sales commissions in an intuitive way.
Collaborated with developers to determine technical constraints, ensuring that the eCommerce functionality and MLM structure could be executed efficiently.
Worked with legal advisors to ensure compliance with cannabis distribution laws, including identity verification, order tracking, and location-based restrictions.
Through these discussions, we finalized a model that allowed users to operate "white-label" eCommerce stores, enabling them to sell cannabis products under their own branding while staying connected to the larger HYHR ecosystem.
Step 2: Designing a Customizable eCommerce Solution
Once the structure was established, I focused on designing a flexible, customizable eCommerce experience that empowered distributors to personalize their storefronts while maintaining core platform functionality.
Developed an intuitive store builder that allowed distributors to customize their branding, product offerings, and messaging while following HYHR’s compliance standards.
Created pre-built eCommerce templates that balanced customizability with ease of use, ensuring that users could quickly launch their stores without needing design expertise.
Designed a dashboard experience where distributors could track orders, manage earnings, and grow their customer base through referrals.
Step 3: Interaction Design & Visual Exploration
While developing the interaction design, I also worked on the visual identity and brand aesthetics to establish HYHR’s unique positioning in the cannabis industry.
Explored logo variations, color schemes, and typography to create a modern and professional yet accessible brand.
Crafted a visual messaging strategy that balanced legitimacy, trust, and compliance with the cannabis industry’s evolving perception.
Ensured that UI elements were designed for scalability, allowing for easy adaptation across different distributor storefronts.
Key Features
In developing HYHR, two key areas of focus defined my contributions: creating the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and establishing a strong brand identity. These foundational elements helped validate the business model, attract early adopters, and position HYHR as a disruptive force in the cannabis industry.

Core MVP Features
White-Label eCommerce Storefronts: Enabled distributors to customize and launch their own cannabis eCommerce stores, complete with branding, product catalogs, and pricing control.
Sales Tracking & Commission Management: Provided an intuitive dashboard where distributors could track orders, revenue, and commission payouts in real time.
Compliance-Driven Onboarding: Integrated identity verification, geo-restrictions, and legal compliance checks to ensure distributors operated within state regulations.
Seamless Product Management: Allowed dispensaries to list, manage, and distribute cannabis products through independent distributor storefronts.
Brand Identity & Visual Design
Because HYHR aimed to disrupt the traditional cannabis market, it needed a strong, professional brand identity that conveyed trust, innovation, and legitimacy.
Brand Development Process
Logo & Visual Identity: Designed a modern, sleek logo that balanced approachability with credibility, ensuring the brand stood apart from stereotypical cannabis marketing.
Color Palette & Typography: Established a color scheme and typography that reinforced a sense of trust, sophistication, and compliance—moving away from overly casual or recreational branding.
Visual Messaging & Positioning: Created a brand strategy that highlighted empowerment, entrepreneurship, and accessibility, making HYHR appealing to both distributors and dispensaries.
Marketing & Investor Materials: Designed pitch decks, landing pages, and promotional assets to drive early interest and secure buy-in from stakeholders and users.
Conclusion
By designing a fully functional MVP and establishing a strong brand identity, I helped HYHR launch with clarity, purpose, and a disruptive edge in the cannabis industry. These foundational efforts set the stage for growth, user adoption, and long-term scalability, ensuring that HYHR was not just another marketplace but a transformative business model.
